Black Onyx is a form of chalcedony, which is microcrystalline quartz formed in the gas cavities of lava. Angelite is a relatively recent discovery in the mineral and gem world being was discovered in 1987 in Peru. The name anhydrite comes from the Greek anhydras--meaning "without water"--a reference to Angelite being gypsum that has completely lost all hydration, becoming a stone that is "without water."

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
💎 Black onyx can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid exposure to household chemicals and extreme heat. Because of the hardness and durability of onyx, it should be kept away from other gemstones and jewelry to prevent scratching softer materials.
💎 Angelite is an inherently unstable stone that absorbs moisture at the drop of a hat. It can also be easily marred, so protect it from scratches, sharp blows or large temperature changes that will fracture, shatter or chip it. When anhydrite--a soft mineral--is exposed or immersed into water, it transforms into gypsum. Therefore, do not wear Angelite while perspiring, bathing or swimming. It is best cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.

Fast shipping on this little guy although when he arrived I didn’t realize he had so many white specks on his Angelite shell. I’ve reviewed these photos closely prior to purchase but it appeared I received one that didn’t appear up to par. In addition, at the time of purchase there was only a remaining turtle in stock and therefore I thought I was receiving the one in the photos. 😕 Aside from that, this was the fast shipping I’ve seen - the owners sent the package out minutes after the purchase - which I truly appreciated. I just wished this turtle had a smooth angelite shell on him, as I was planning this as a gift...
